This block displays a heading with a list of icons and text. Use this block to add your product's care instructions or any information you wish to show with an icon.

Set-up block

  1. Select the Product Template you would like to edit from the dropdown menu in the top bar: Products > [Product template name]
  2. Click on the Product care block to open its settings.
    • If the Product care block doesn’t exist, you can create it. In the side panel, under the Product content section, click + Add block and select the Product care block.
  3. If desired, you can change the order of your blocks by using the drag and drop handles ⋮⋮
  4. Care is the default placeholder text in the Heading field. Change the text to what you prefer or leave this field empty if you want to remove the title entirely.
  5. Our themes have a limit of four rows on this block. Every item will appear on a new row. To remove a row, leave the field empty. To customize, follow the steps below:
    1. Use the Text field to add a description to the row.
    2. Use the Select an icon dropdown to choose an icon from our default icons list. The icon will appear before your text. If you don't want any icon to appear, select None in the icon dropdown menu.
    3. (Optional) If you would like to use a custom icon, go to the Custom icon field and click Select an image. Use the file selector to select an image from your library or upload a new icon file. Your custom icon will overwrite any default icons you have selected. We recommend a 60 x 60px image with a transparent background, in PNG format.
  6. Click Save.

Note: Leave the Heading field empty to remove it.

Define Metafields

Add dynamic, unique content to your sections and blocks by using metafields. To learn how to get started, visit Shopify's guide on Metafields. In the next steps, we will show you how to add Metafields and connect dynamic sources to the Product care block.

  1. Click the Dynamic source button next to the Text option in the Product care block settings under CARE 1 section.
  2. Click the (+) Create Metafield button.
  3. Click on the Products tab.
  4. Click the Add definition button in the top-right.
  5. Create a name for your Metafield. The name should describe the purpose of the Metafield. For example, in this case you might use Care text 1.
  6. Click the (+) Select content type.
  7. Under the Text group, select Single line text
  8. Click Save.

Add content to Metafields

After you define your Metafields you can add content to them.

  1. On your Shopify admin, go to Products and select a product in which you would like to include unique content.
  2. Scroll down to the Metafields section and add unique content in the Metafields that you created. For example, add content to the Care text 1 Metafield that you created in the previous step.
  3. Click Save.
  4. Repeat steps 1 - 3  for every product in which you want to add unique content. Shopify offers the ability to edit Metafields in bulk. To learn more, please visit Editing product Metafields in bulk.

Insert Metafields as dynamic sources

Once you create Metafields and add content to them, you can add this as dynamic source in the theme. In your theme editor:

  1. Go to the Product care block.
  2. Click the Dynamic source icon above the Text field under the CARE 1 section.
  3. Select the Metafield that you created and added content to.
  4. Click Save.
  5. Now you can see all of the dynamic content you added to different products.

Note: The previous steps are an example that shows how to add dynamic content for the Text field in Product care block. You can add dynamic content to other fields by following the same steps. Please note, the Metafield content type and name should change based on the content you are adding.

These are the recommended content types for every setting field in Product care block:

Setting Field Metafield Content Type
Heading Text > Single line text
Text Text > Single line text
Custom icon File

Note: Any change applied to this block will appear on all pages that use the same template.
