Product Notes

This block displays a heading and description. Use this section to show more information about your product.

Set-up block

1. Select the Product Template you want to edit from the dropdown menu in the top bar, Products > [Product template name].
2. Click on the Product notes block to open the block settings.
   • If the Product notes block doesn’t exist, you can add it. In the side panel, under the Product content section, click (+) Add block and select the Product notes block.
3. If desired, you can change the order of your blocks by using the drag and drop handles ⋮⋮
4. Notes Title is the default placeholder text in the Heading field. Change the text to what you prefer or leave this field empty if you want to remove the title entirely.
5. Add Text to show a short description or leave this field empty to remove it.
6. Click Save.

Define Metafields

Add dynamic, unique content to your sections and blocks by using metafields. To learn how to get started, visit Shopify's guide on Metafields. In the next steps, we will show you how to add Metafields and connect dynamic sources to the Product notes block.

1. Click the Dynamic source icon next to the Heading field in the Product notes block.
2. Click (+) Add Metafield.
3. Click the Products tab.
4. Click Add definition in the top-right.
5. Add the name of the Metafield. The name should describe the purpose of the Metafield. For example, in this case you might use Product notes title.
6. Click (+) Select type
7. Under the Text group select Single line text. 
8. Click Save.

Add content to Metafields

After your define your Metafields, you can add content to them.

1. On your Shopify admin, go to Products and select a product in which you would like to include unique content.
2. Scroll down to the Metafields section and add unique content in the Metafields that you created. For example, add content to the Product notes title Metafield that you created in the previous step.
3. Click Save.
4. Repeat steps 1 - 3 for every product in which you want to add unique content.

Insert Metafields as dynamic sources

Once you create Metafields and add content to them, you can add this as a dynamic source in the theme. In your theme editor:

1. Go to the Product notes block.
2. Click the Dynamic source icon above the Heading field.
3. Select the Metafield that you created and added content to.
4. Click Save.
5. Now you can see all of the dynamic content you added to different products.

Note: The previous steps are an example that shows how to add dynamic content to the Heading field. You can add dynamic content to other fields by following the same steps. Please note, the Metafield content type and name should change based on the content you are adding.
